Terms and Conditions

1. Booking & Payments

  • Reservations require a deposit/full payment (CAD).

  • Prices subject to applicable taxes.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

  • 14+ days notice: Full refund.

  • 7–14 days: 50% refund.

  • <7 days/no-shows: No refund.

3. Property Rules

  • Check-in/out: 2:00 PM / 11:00 AM.

  • Leave No Trace: Guests must clean up and respect the land.

  • Damages: Liability for excessive wear/tear or missing items.

4. Liability Waiver

  • Not responsible for injuries, accidents, or lost belongings.

  • Amenities (boats, fire pits) used at guests’ own risk.

5. Cultural Respect

  • Acknowledge you are on Treaty 3 land (Anishinaabe and Métis territory). Honor local traditions and protocols.

6. Governing Law

Disputes resolved under Ontario law.​

Treaty 3, Fort William First Nation & Métis Nation Policies (2025)

1. Land Acknowledgement

  • Traditional Territory: Anishinaabe (Fort William First Nation, *1850 Robinson-Superior Treaty*) and Métis Nation of Ontario (Region 2).

  • Respect Shared Lands: Adhere to:

    • Fort William First Nation Land Code (2025).

    • Métis Harvesting Policy (2023) for designated areas.

2. Economic Commitments

  • Priority for Indigenous Partners: Contract local Anishinaabe/Métis businesses (cleaning, tours).

  • Revenue Sharing:

    • 3% of non-Indigenous guest revenue to Fort William First Nation’s Economic Development Fund.

    • 1% to Métis cultural programs in Northwestern Ontario.

3. Cultural & Environmental Protocols

  • Anishinaabe Traditions:

    • Sacred sites (e.g., sweat lodges) off-limits without a Knowledge Keeper.

    • Seasonal ceremonies may restrict activities.

  • Métis Rights:

    • Respect road allowance areas used by harvesters.

  • Environmental Rules:

    • No motorized watercraft near moose feeding grounds (*Fort William F.N. Resolution #2024-WL12*).

    • Zero-tolerance littering ($1,000 fine under Joint Anishinaabe-Métis Land Protection Pact).
