About Us

Meet the Caretakers of this Land.

Ten years ago, while jogging through the serene wilderness near Thunder Bay, Peter Manduca reached a piece of land that took his breath away. A member of the First Nations community with deep respect for the natural world, Peter felt an immediate calling—this was more than just a beautiful property; it was a place he was meant to care for. What began as a chance discovery soon became a labour of love, as Peter dedicated himself to transforming the land into a peaceful retreat for others to enjoy.

With vision and determination, Peter has brought four cozy cabins to life over the past decade, each thoughtfully designed to blend rustic charm with modern comfort. Beyond the cabins, he has blazed extensive trail systems, inviting guests to explore the quiet beauty of the forest, where sunlight filters through towering trees and wildlife roams freely. Every step of the journey—from clearing paths to building by hand—has been infused with his deep connection to the land.

Peter lives on the property with his partner, Tara, and their adorable French bulldog, Omar, who can often be found trotting along the trails or lounging by the fire.

Together, they’ve created not just a rental property, but a sanctuary—a place where guests can unplug, recharge, and experience the same sense of wonder that first drew Peter here.

Whether you're seeking adventure on the trails or stillness by the water, Peter, Tara, and Omar welcome you to experience the magic of this place—where nature, hard work, and heartfelt hospitality come together.
